DCHEA is a group representing the wide range of home educators in the District of Columbia. We welcome as members the parents and legal guardians of children of all ages who have taken on the challenge of educating their children at home.

As members of DCHEA we are proud that we have the opportunity to educate our children in a spectacular city with more educational resources at our fingertips than can be imagined, yet we realize that we face unique challenges as well. We believe that by joining together we can protect our right to teach at home free of intrusive and burdensome regulations. We also believe that we can promote the cause of home education in the District and enable one another to serve our children better by sharing resources and ideas.

DCHEA exists only in the virtual world for now. Please join in the conversation by requesting to become a member of the following groups:

DCHEA Facebook Group

DCHEA Google Group (e-mail list)

DCHEA’s president is Ethan Reedy, a homeschooling father of twin 16 year-old boys and a 5 year-old daughter. He and his family live on Capitol Hill.
